It is time for a retro cocktail recipe, and the Witches Brew sounds interesting!

1/2 oz.Cranberry juice
1/2 oz.Sour Mix
1 oz.Vodka
1 oz. Chambord

Fill highball glass with ice. Add vodka and chambord. Add a splash of cranberry and sour mix. Stir and enjoy!

Schenley Black Rose – Drink Recipe

This drink recipe comes from the vintage Schenley Guide for Holiday Entertaining... and parties all year ’round. There is no publication date noted, but it’s design makes it look like it may be from the 1950′s.

2 dashes of grenadine
2 dashes of bitters
1 jigger favorite Schenley (it doesn’t specify, but I’m guessing any bourbon or whiskey will do)

Stir and serve in champagne glass filled with cracked ice and twist of lemon peel.

I happen to really like the music of Jackie Gleason. His style was mood mood music, or romantic instrumentals, than the wacky ultra lounge scene. His goal was to make “musical wallpaper that should never be intrusive, but conducive”. I like it, and I’m stickin’ to that!

Juice of 1/2 lime
1 jigger of your favorite Rum
Bottle of your favorite Cola

Pour over ice cubes in 12 oz. glass. Drop in squeezed lime shell.
